craft fair

earlier this month i took part in a craft fair at work.  hadn't done one in a few years, so i was a bit nervous.  when you make something with your hands, no matter how much *you* like it, you never know if other people will. let alone buy those somethings from you. it ended up being a very rewarding day. lot's of little goodies were sold, and i got to talk about my love of yarn to everyone and anyone for a few hours.  

holiday goodness

for a year that was filled with so many ups and downs, it is so nice to end the year on a cozy and relaxing note! i am on vacation from work and so far have spent it mostly at home. there was lots of baking. a lot of eating! too many games of gin rummy. and an enormous amount of crochet & knitting. this is exactly how i like it 💜💜💜

autumn is almost here

i have to admit, fall is my favorite season.  although, living in southern california, i don't think i experience fall quite as much as others.  but there is definitely a change you can feel in the air here too.  it's the colors for me.  love all the oranges, browns, and everything in between.

these little boot cuffs are a perfect fall accessory! they can be worn right side up or right side down to add in a bit of variety since each end has a different pattern. i wear mine pretty often since i am definitely a boot kind of girl.

these are some of my latest creations!  i'm very happy with how they came out and loving these colors.  i took a trip to joshua tree desert earlier this year and was completely inspired by the beautiful sunrises, the wide open sky and all the amazing earth tones. i also wanted to do something a bit different than my usual long scarf.  cowls!!  i made a sweater last winter and took bits of that pattern, some standard crochet stitches and created these simple, but detailed cowls.  they are easy to wear and the colors are very fall like too! hope you like them as much as i do...

more new items

i really enjoy making these quick projects.  these worked up nice and quick and the cotton really holds its shape.  these are listed as washcloths in the shop, but i like to use them as pot holders and even trivets.  the colors are pretty complimentary to most kitchen decor too.

this beauty needs a new home. you can find this soft violet color and a few delicate colors in my shop.

filet crochet is my all time favorite type of crochet to do. i love working with fine thread and this brand, curio from knit picks has by far has been a favorite.

good to be back

can't believe it's been over a year since i've posted anything in this space.  it seems as instagram definitely took over as far as posting crochet projects and promoting my etsy shop.
